About Jason Cohen

Over the years, it's been an honor to help dogs with separation anxiety become more comfortable when they're alone; teach dogs in multi-dog households how to live peacefully with each other; help dogs understand how to come when called; and even how to walk calmly on the city street near other dogs.

But one of the most rewarding achievements is helping dogs overcome their fears, enabling them to become confident and happy dogs. Seeing humans learning to communicate properly with their dogs, for me, is what it's all about.

I am a Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist, Veteran of the US Army, a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP),

Philosophy

I believe in always training the dog in front of me and helping you understand how, like people, no two dogs are the same. In order to focus on your individual dog and your specific goals, I break down the process into three parts:

Bark.

It is the problem we want to solve. Whether it's jumping, stopping, or pulling on the leash, not coming when called, fears and anxiety, aggression, or incessant barking, we start by finding your dog's motivation.

Train.

This is how we close the communication gap between you and your dog. Most behavior issues can resolve by building a better relationship, motivational training, and behavior modification. Coupled with the right timing, consistency, and tools, getting everyone on the same page can be easier than you think.

Love.

This is what we all want to give our dogs, but there has to be a balance. Dogs thrive on structure, rules, boundaries, and clarity of communication. Physical and mental exercise and building a reward history of good behavior, I can help you develop a healthy and happy relationship with your dog.

Let me show you and your dog what Bark, Train, Love is all about, get started here.
